What power's like out here
The valleys and Springbrook are on Energex's network, fed by long overhead lines up narrow, timbered valleys. Storms and falling trees cause most outages.
Springbrook is one of the wettest places in south-east Queensland. That's hard on solar in a wet spell, so batteries and backup need sizing for cloudy weeks.
Fire is a risk too. In September 2019 bushfires in the Gold Coast hinterland destroyed the historic Binna Burra Lodge at Lamington National Park.

Is off-grid realistic in Springbrook's rainfall?
Yes, with the right sizing and a generator for long wet spells. We size for the wettest months.
Can a battery keep my water pump running in an outage?
With a backup design, yes. Pumps are on the list from the start.
Do you cover Numinbah Valley?
Yes, including the QLD side of the valley. Put your postcode in the form.
Are there rebates?
Federal support can apply to eligible solar and batteries. We check it on each design.
