Off-grid and hybrid solar for Mount Pleasant, Birdwood and the eastern Hills
The eastern Hills are grazing country, cold in winter and spread out. If your block sits at the end of a long line, or you're building out past Birdwood and the connection price is ugly, we can design you something better.

What power's like out here
You're on SA Power Networks' network, with long overhead rural lines across the ranges.
On 20 December 2019 the Cudlee Creek fire threatened Mount Pleasant, Springton, Gumeracha and Mount Torrens, according to the AIDR record of the 2019-20 fires.
It's higher and colder than the plains, with frosty winters, so heating loads and winter sun drive the design. Properties are mostly larger grazing and lifestyle blocks.
How we work here
The Off Grid Shop designs every system, with winter, pumps and sheds built in. A vetted, accredited SA installer does the install and the paperwork.
- Tell us about the property on our design form.
- We design the system in-house and send you the design.
- A vetted, accredited local partner installs it. See our recent work.
Common questions
Will off-grid work through an eastern Hills winter?
Yes, if it's sized for June. We work from your heating and cooking loads and usually include generator backup.
Can a battery keep water running in fire season?
Yes, with a backup design. Pumps and water come first on the list.
Do you cover Springton and Eden Valley?
Yes. Put your postcode in the form.
Are there rebates?
Federal support can apply to eligible solar and batteries. We check it on each design.
