A recall, handled well.
In November 2025 Sigenergy recalled its single-phase 8, 10 and 12 kW Energy Controllers. The AC plug on those units could overheat. They pushed protective firmware, redesigned the plug, and replaced every affected unit at no charge, with two extra years of warranty. We were in that program. The replacement units have given us no trouble.

The ACCC product safety notice PRA 2025/20703 covers the SigenStor Energy Controller 8.0, 10.0 and 12.0 kW single-phase Australian models, sold from 4 March 2025 to 18 November 2025. The notice says the AC plugs may overheat and become damaged, posing a risk of fire. The Clean Energy Council listed the recall on 19 November 2025.

Firmware, a new plug, a free swap
Firmware trims output when a controller sits at full load for a long stretch. Each affected controller is replaced with a unit that carries the redesigned plug, and the warranty on that replacement runs two years longer. The mySigen app is how owners hear about it. Sigenergy's public account is that some installations did not follow the fitting instructions. The original plug called for ferrules and a crimp. The redesign takes that step out. They replaced every affected unit, installer by installer, not only the ones fitted a certain way.
A week to learn the process, then it moved
It took about a week to learn their process. After that the replacement inverters shipped quickly, the swaps were done, and the installers were paid promptly. We have had no issues with the new units. That is why the Sigenergy page still recommends the platform, with this story linked rather than buried.
Leave the connector alone
Keep the system online so the protective firmware can land. Leave the AC connector alone. Any sign of heat at the plug: isolate the unit and call us, or write to the service desk above. The replacement carries no bill.
