Off-grid and hybrid solar for Port Lincoln and Lower Eyre Peninsula
End-of-the-line power, wind off two gulfs, and properties a long way from the last transformer. If you're on a farm out of Cummins, a shack at Coffin Bay or a new build on the edge of Port Lincoln, a well-designed solar and battery system can cut you loose from the grid or keep you going when it drops. Hybrid means solar plus a battery with the grid kept as backup.
What power's like out here
Lower Eyre is on SA Power Networks' network, at the far end of a long line from Port Augusta. When something goes wrong up the line, the whole peninsula feels it.
Wind is a fact of life here. Coastal storms drop lines, and a roof at Coffin Bay sees a different year to a shed at Cummins.
Summers are dry with strong sun, winters are mild and windy. Off-grid systems are sized for the short days of June.
Properties are grain and sheep farms, aquaculture sheds, holiday shacks and lifestyle blocks, often with a bore or a shed well away from the house.

Designed by The Off Grid Shop, installed by a vetted accredited SA installer. Port Lincoln is the far end of our SA area, so we say that plainly: tell us the postcode and we'll confirm a partner can take the site on. Wind, winter sizing and generator backup are in the design from the start.

Do you really take jobs this far from Adelaide?
Yes. Port Lincoln, Coffin Bay, Tumby Bay and Cummins are inside our South Australia area. Put your postcode in the form and we'll confirm the install partner before anything else.
Is off-grid cheaper than connecting a rural block on Lower Eyre?
Often the grid connection price for a new rural block covers a complete stand-alone system with a generator for backup, and there's no daily supply charge afterwards. The design compares both paths with the working shown.
Can you design for a farm shed, cool room or three-phase plant?
Yes. Workshops, cool rooms and plant that can't wait on the grid are a commercial design, and the site visit is in person. See our commercial page.
