The Off Grid Shop approach

Electricity plans for solar, batteries and EVs

Compare The Off Grid Shop guides to Localvolts, Amber Electric, GloBird Energy and Flow Power.

Choose around how you use energy

Start with when you use power, when your car is at home and what you want your battery to do. Then compare the complete plan for your address. This is a selection of providers we discuss, not a whole-market ranking.

Why we favour Localvolts

For customers who value peer-to-peer trading and control over their buying and selling preferences, Localvolts is our preferred starting point. That reflects our approach, not a guarantee of the lowest bill for every home.

Our interest is also practical: the Boost My Business 247 partner arrangement helps inform buying offers for business customers and opportunities to trade with participating sellers. Read the Localvolts guide for the data-access explanation.

How we get paid

We receive no referral payment from Localvolts. Its signup link leads to the Boost My Business 247 partner page.

We have commission-paying referral arrangements with Amber Electric, GloBird Energy and Flow Power. We receive payment for eligible signups using our tracked links. At present, those three buttons open standard provider websites and do not identify your signup as our referral.

Choose the plan that suits your home. Our commercial relationships are disclosed so you can consider them alongside our advice.

What to compare

Review usage rates, daily charges, subscription fees, export conditions, charging windows and equipment compatibility. For wholesale-linked offers, consider variable and negative prices. Confirm who controls the battery and how your backup reserve is protected.

Use our On-Grid Design Questions to organise the details before comparing plans.
