Victron Energy · dealer for over a decade

Victron off-grid systems,
designed and installed.

Ask an off-grid owner who has run one for a few years and the answer comes fast: the monitoring, the displays, the sheer range of what the system can be told to do. We've been a Victron dealer for more than ten years, we run it at home, and we still haven't met many off-grid designs it couldn't carry. Designed in Lismore, installed by accredited locals — Kempsey to the Gold Coast.

What makes Victron different

Monitoring

The best monitoring in the market

Every Victron system reports to VRM, Victron's free remote monitoring portal: live power flows, battery state, solar yield, generator runs, alerts to your phone. On the wall, a GX touch display shows the whole system at a glance. Nothing else we install shows you your power this clearly.

Flexibility

Any design you can draw

Single-phase or three-phase, one inverter or a paralleled bank, a shed or a homestead, lithium racks or another chemistry. Victron is a kit of parts rather than one sealed box, so the design bends to the site instead of the other way round. In more than a decade there have been very few off-grid designs we couldn't build on it.

Programmability

Programmable to the last relay

Generator start rules, load shedding, charge behaviour by season, custom automations through Node-RED on the GX device. The system does what your property asks of it, not what a menu allows.

Reliability

Proven where it counts

Victron has powered stand-alone sites for decades — boats, remote stations, homes — long before home batteries were fashionable. Our earliest Victron installs are still running today.

The system Mike runs at home

“I've got a load of different systems at my own place, and you just cannot beat Victron for the monitoring, the displays, the flexibility — what you can actually program it to do. There aren't many off-grid designs I've been handed where I couldn't use Victron.”
— Mike Haydon, The Off Grid Shop

The platform keeps moving

New from Victron: rack-mounted inverters, and a 20 kW MultiPlus

Two things landed from Victron in 2026 that change how we draw an off-grid system. The Multi RS19 Solar and Multi HS19 Solar put the inverter-charger inside the same 19-inch rack as the batteries — a 48-volt single-phase unit and a high-voltage three-phase unit — which is where we think serious off-grid storage is heading. And the MultiPlus 20k delivers 20 kW from a single 48-volt inverter-charger, rated in kilowatts rather than kVA — the real usable number.

It's a pattern, not a one-off: two designs on our own books were only possible because a Victron release — software as much as hardware — landed in time to let us build exactly what the site called for. A Victron system installed today keeps gaining capability through firmware rather than standing still. Ask what that means for your property and we'll show you rather than tell you.

Grid-connected Victron is an Energy Storage System — same kit, the wire stays in the drawing. Dynamic ESS, Victron's published figures, and when the design picks ESS over stand-alone live on Victron ESS Australia.

Monitoring

See your power from anywhere — and so can we

Off-grid, the system is the utility, and you want to know what it's doing. VRM puts the whole system on your phone: what the sun made today, where the battery sits, when the generator last ran and why. With your permission it also lets us see the same screen from Lismore — so when something looks wrong on a wet Tuesday in the hinterland, the first response is a remote look and often a remote fix, not a truck.

For the tinkerers, the GX device opens right up: Node-RED automations, Modbus, integrations with the rest of a smart property. For everyone else, the touch display on the wall says everything in one glance.

The kit of parts

What a Victron off-grid system is made of

ComponentWhat it doesWhy it matters off-grid
MultiPlus-II or Quattro inverter-chargerTurns battery power into household AC, charges from a generator, manages the lotSized to your real peak loads; paralleled or three-phase when the property demands it
SmartSolar MPPT chargersHarvest the array and charge the battery efficientlyStrings sized for winter sun, not summer brochures
GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, or the new Nucleo GX)The brain: monitoring, control, VRM connection, generator startEverything talks to everything — and to you
BatteryRack-mounted lithium with full communications, or another chemistry when the site calls for itVictron works with a long list of managed batteries, so the pack is chosen for the site, not forced by the inverter
Generator integrationAutomatic start on state of charge, load or scheduleThe darkest fortnight of the year becomes a non-event
VRM monitoringFree remote portal, history and alertsYou see it, we see it, problems get caught early

Every part is chosen after the loads are counted, never before. A Victron system is engineered to the property; the parts list is the last page of the design, not the first.

Existing systems

Already running Victron? Support, expansion, modernising

Victron routes end-user support through the dealer who supplied the system, which is why the dealer you choose matters as much as the gear. We've supported Victron installs for more than a decade: firmware, reconfiguration, adding storage or solar, replacing a tired inverter, or bringing an older system onto VRM so you can finally see what it's doing.

If another installer put it in, that's fine. Send the details through and we'll tell you what's possible.

On the ground

Victron installers — Northern Rivers, Tweed, Gold Coast, Mid North Coast

We install where our accredited installers live and work — honestly stated, not “Australia-wide” with an asterisk. Outside these regions you get a straight answer — and we keep preferred partners across Australia, so send your details through and we'll check who can service your area. Loads first, gear last

How we design a Victron system

Site first, loads second, off-grid or hybrid third — then the parts that fit. Tell us about the property; if Victron is the right call, the design says so with the working shown. If an all-in-one cabinet suits the job better, the design says that too, and you'll know exactly why.

Asked constantly

Victron questions, answered

Is Victron good for off-grid in Australia?

It is what stand-alone systems were built on for decades, and for good reason: monitoring you'll actually use, a design that bends to the site, generator integration that just works, and firmware that keeps improving a system years after it went in. We've designed on it for more than ten years and run it at home.

Does Victron work with rack-mounted batteries?

Yes — with a long list of managed lithium racks talking to the system over CAN-bus, and Victron's rack-mounted RS19 and HS19 inverter-chargers are, in our view, the best news rack-mounted off-grid builds have had in years. The pack is matched to the site, never forced by the inverter.

Can I monitor a Victron system remotely?

Yes. VRM is Victron's free monitoring portal: live and historical data, alerts, and remote access to the system's controls. With your permission we can look at the same screen from Lismore, which is how many problems get sorted without a site visit.

Do you support Victron systems installed by someone else?

Yes. Firmware, reconfiguration, expansion, replacing an old inverter, or getting a legacy system onto VRM. Send the details through and we'll tell you what's possible before anyone drives anywhere.

Is a Victron system eligible for the federal battery discount?

The discount follows the battery, not the inverter brand: it applies to approved battery products installed under the scheme's rules, and many Victron systems pair with approved lithium batteries. Off-grid and hybrid rules differ, so the facts are on our rebates page and every design states eligibility plainly.

Victron, Sigenergy or Deye — which one?

The design picks the gear. For a fully off-grid property, Victron's flexibility and monitoring usually win the argument. For a grid-connected hybrid home wanting one tidy cabinet at the sharpest price, an all-in-one like Sigenergy or Deye often makes more sense. We install all three and we'll tell you which fits before you spend a cent.
