Off-grid systems,
drawn for one property.
An off-grid system is the house supply with the poles gone. Panels, storage, the inverter and a generator rule are sized together. The old catalogue sold off-grid system packages with batteries as fixed kits. Those kits are retired. The batteries stay in the design.

Winter sun, not a brochure week
Panels sized for your latitude and a dull stretch, so January is not the month the drawing believes in.
The battery, with the array
Days the pack carries the house. The chemistry and the brand sit on the off grid battery page, chosen after the loads.
The box that makes household power
It turns solar and battery power into the 240 volt supply the house uses, with surge for the pump and the kettle together. Three-phase (the heavier supply many rural sheds already have) when the plant calls for it.
The long dark stretch, written down
The darkest fortnight is part of the design. The start rule is on the drawing before any brand is named.
A kit asks the house to fit
Off-grid system packages with batteries looked simple until the real week arrived. We count the loads first, assume winter, and name the platform after that. The gear we actually install is on what we install. A plain account of the power path is on how off-grid solar works.
Stand-alone, or grid kept as backup
Some properties are fully stand-alone. Others run a hybrid system (solar plus a battery, with the grid as backup) and keep the poles for now.
| The job | What the design answers | Where it usually lands |
|---|---|---|
| New stand-alone house | Winter loads, days of cover, generator rules | A full off-grid system |
| Hybrid, grid still there | Evening peak, backup circuits, a later exit | Solar plus a battery, grid as backup |
| Small dwelling or cabin | Daily loads, and headroom when two appliances start | One engineered system, as on our work |
| Roof already exporting | Inverter on the wall, circuits that stay alive | Storage added, on the off grid battery page |
The platforms, once the property is known
No brand is the default. These are the same platforms named on the install page.
Sigenergy SigenStor
Inverter, battery management electronics and storage modules in one tower.
Deye
Inverters with the surge rural properties actually use. Single and three phase, grid-tied or fully stand-alone, paired with lithium storage.
EcoFlow OCEAN 2
Whole-home storage in single-phase and three-phase versions, with a fast switch to backup when the network drops.
Victron
Fifteen years of stand-alone builds still sit on that gear. It is still sold and still supported.
Where an install actually happens
We install where accredited installers are on the ground: Northern Rivers, Tweed, Gold Coast, Mid North Coast, and the South Australian towns on the areas page. Outside that map you get a straight answer, and we check whether a preferred partner can take the site on.

Off-grid system questions
What is an off-grid system?
An off-grid system is the whole supply for a house with the poles gone: panels, storage, the inverter (the box that turns solar and battery power into household power), and a written rule for the generator. The pieces are sized together for that property.
Do you still sell off-grid system packages with batteries?
The fixed kits are retired. An off-grid solar system package with batteries used to mean a shopping-cart bundle. The batteries still belong in the design. They are sized with the array, on a custom design, rather than picked from a catalogue.
What is a hybrid system, next to a stand-alone one?
A hybrid system is solar plus a battery, with the grid as backup. The house runs on its own generation first. A stand-alone system removes the connection. Plenty of properties start hybrid and keep a later cut of the poles open.
Which brands go into an off-grid system?
Sigenergy, Deye, EcoFlow and Victron, named after the loads, the winter and the room the gear lives in. No brand is the house brand, and we publish no ranking list.
How do I start an off-grid system design?
Send the form on this page, open the custom design path, or call 0483 927 257. Name, phone and suburb open it. A designer comes back with the system sized to the property.
